Report: NFL will not fine players for 9/11 tributes on cleats
The NFL has decided not to fine New York Giants wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr and Victor Cruz, Tennessee Titans linebacker Avery Williamson and Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee for the 9/11 tributes that we displayed on their respective cleats on Sunday, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.
Players can be fined for violating the league's uniform code and some were reportedly warned before the game.
McAfee tweeted that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was “not a communist” as he had not been fined.
Guys.. Good news.. @nflcommish is not a communist.. No fine for my American cleats thus far.. Good stuff Rog pic.twitter.com/4PrPIaNdzE

Titans head coach Mike Mularkey reportedly offered to pay for Williamson's potential fine ahead of the game. Williamson plans to auction off his cleats with the proceeds going to Operation Warrior Wishes.
