Report: Patriots DE Jabaal Sheard, LT Marcus Cannon injuries are minor
The New England Patriots suffered a pair of significant injuries on Sunday night, but they got some good news on Monday.
Defensive end Jabaal Sheard and left tackle Marcus Cannon both left the game against the Indianapolis Colts, but their injuries aren't believed to be serious. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, both ailments are "considered minor."
Sheard has played outstanding for the Patriots this season, as he's recorded four sacks in just five games. He has consistently gotten pressure on opposing quarterbacks, while he's also done a great job of setting the edge in stopping the run.
As for Cannon, he was expected to be Nate Solder's replacement after he was placed on injured reserve with a torn biceps. Cannon left the game with a toe injury, but the Patriots were able to overcome it and protect Tom Brady to the tune of just two sacks allowed.
Some good #Patriots injury news: Ailments for LT Marcus Cannon (toe) and DE Jabaal Sheard (ankle) are considered minor.
