Report: Patriots work out Devin Hester two days after release from Ravens

The New England Patriots were uncharacteristically bad on special teams this week against the Baltimore Ravens. Rookie Cyrus Jones got in the way of a punt that resulted in Baltimore recovering. On their next possession, Matthew Slater fumbled the kickoff and handed the Ravens an easy seven points.

Bill Belichick has never been one to shy away from making a change, and he could be doing just that. According to Courtney Fallon of NFL Network, the Patriots brought in Devin Hester for a workout.

Hester was released by the Ravens this week after struggling on punt returns against the Patriots. He leads the NFL in all-time return touchdowns with 20 and considering the way New England has struggled in that department this season, it could be a perfect match.

Hester is averaging 7.2 yards per punt return this season and 24.5 yards per kick return.
