Report: Police say Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib shot himself in leg
The Dallas Police Department have finished their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the June shooting of Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib and concluded that he shot himself in the leg, reports WFAA.com.
Authorities would not confirm the report and the Broncos also did not provide a comment.
According to the news report, Talib claimed that he was shot by someone while standing in a Dallas park on June 5, but authorities found that claim "unfounded."
Talib told police he heard a gunshot and fell to the ground having been shot in the right leg. He was driven to a local hospital, where he was treated and released the next day..
The gunshot wound forced Talib to miss a trip to the White House to celebrate the Broncos Super Bowl 50 win over the Carolina Panthers.
No one has been charged in the incident and the NFL is continuing its investigation.
Talib, 30, is a three-time Pro Bowler. He has started each of the Broncos first four games this season and has 11 total tackles and three interceptions.
