Report: Raymond James Stadium may be getting a facelift soon

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their fans may be getting some good news very soon. According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Raymond James Stadium is planning some big improvements in the near future.

"We've been in negotiations for weeks back and forth with the Bucs and trying to finalize a deal and we're optimistic a renovation agreement can be reached in the near future," Hillsborough County Commissioner Ken Hagan said Monday.

As Stroud reports, the makeover could include anything from "new video scoreboards to seat cushions," and will include more than $25 million in capital improvements from the Tampa Sports Authority.

It's widely known that the Bucs are hoping to push to get the Super Bowl in town either in 2019 or 2020, as they are finalist for either year with the Falcons, Dolphins and Saints. Any big additions or changes could obviously help their push. Tampa Bay will already be the host of the 2017 college football title game.
