Report: Robert Griffin III to start for Browns Sunday vs. Bengals
Robert Griffin III will make his return to the field on Sunday to start for the Browns against the Bengals, ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports.
Griffin hasn't played since the season opener, his debut for Cleveland, when he broke a bone in his shoulder in a loss to the Eagles. He was cleared for contact last week.
The Browns are 0–12 and are looking to avoid a winless season that has seen Josh McCown, Cody Kessler, Charlie Whitehurst and Kevin Hogan follow Griffin under center in a struggling offense.
Griffin, who recently returned to practice, was set to start out of training camp after signing a two-year, $15 million contract in March. He has throw for 40 touchdowns to 24 interceptions in his career, completing 63.5% of passes.
