Report: Trevor Siemian (shoulder) to start for Broncos vs. Chargers
Quarterback Trevor Siemian will start for the Denver Broncos in their Thursday matchup with the San Diego Chargers after missing a start last week with a shoulder injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Siemian said on Tuesday that he was expecting to play against the Chargers after sitting out of the Broncos' 23–16 loss to the Falcons on Sunday with a bruised AC joint in his non-throwing shoulder. He sustained the left shoulder injury in Week 4 against the Buccaneers.
Siemian had started the Broncos' previous four games and thrown for 824 yards with a completion rate of 67.3% and six touchdowns.
Rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch started in his place for Week 5 as the Broncos were handed their first loss of the season.
The Broncos (4–1) will play the Chargers (1–4) at Qualcomm Stadium at 8:25 p.m. ET on Thursday.
