Rex Ryan has 'funny feeling' Bills will keep three quarterbacks
Through one preseason game, the Buffalo Bills have yet to sort out their quarterback situation. EJ Manuel has seemingly fallen behind Matt Cassel and Tyrod Taylor on the depth chart, leading to speculation that the Bills will cut the third-year quarterback.
However, it's time to pump the brakes on talk of Manuel being left off the 53-man roster.
On Tuesday, head coach Rex Ryan hinted at the idea of keeping three quarterbacks on the roster.
When asked if he would be faced with making a tough decision of keeping two or three quarterbacks on "Coffee with the Coach," Ryan responded by saying:
"No. We're going to keep 53 really good players, and I have a funny feeling that means three quarterbacks."
He didn't exactly say Manuel would be on the roster, but if the Bills do keep three, Manuel will be one of them. That's likely due to the fact that he was taken No. 16 overall in the 2013 draft and is in just his third season.
There's still hope that Manuel can succeed in the NFL, but his time is running out on that opportunity with the Bills.
