Rex Ryan: QB Tyrod Taylor's 'got some magic to him'

Tyrod Taylor made his first career NFL start on Sunday, leading the Buffalo Bills to a statement win over the Indianapolis Colts, 27-14. Not only was Taylor dynamic with his ability to run the ball (41 yards rushing), but he proved that he can sling the ball around the field as well.

Taylor completed 14-of-19 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown as he stunned the Colts' defense. Needless to say, head coach Rex Ryan was impressed and pleased with the play of his quarterback.

"At the end of the day, this guy’s got some magic to him with his legs," Ryan said via the Buffalo News.

Magic is what Taylor showed in the team's surprising win, but no one's ready to crown him the best quarterback in the NFL. Even then, Ryan has to be happy with how Taylor handled the pressure of his first NFL start.

"He beats you with his arm," Ryan said. "He’s smart. You can’t trick him. I mean, it’s hard to trick him. Obviously, he has that added dimension with his legs. You know, he’s great. He’s got a great feel for it. … The great ones, they just got that presence. He has a presence to him."

Taylor knows he played well against the Colts in Week 1, and is excited about his NFL debut. But at the end of the day, it's about winning, and Taylor is well aware of that fact.

"It was everything I envisioned it to be," Taylor said. "The fans were super loud and created a great atmosphere to play our style of ball. We came out 1-0. And that was the main focus."
