Richard Sherman loses it after Blair Walsh's miss

The emotional ending provided us by Blair Walsh cut both ways: The Vikings were stunned, tortured and crushed after the 10-9 loss.

But the Seahawks exploded into a fit of joy, and Richard Sherman, who had nearly blocked one of Walsh’s field goals earlier in the game, collapsed to the ground. Seattle had braved the frigid temperatures to escape with a win. Who could blame him?

Walsh told FOX Sports NFL analysist Peter Schrager after the game that the Seahawks had one motto going into the fourth quarter: “Let’s go champ. That’s all we say to each other. Continue to battle. Continue to fight.”

The two-time NFC champions are moving on to play the top-seeded Panthers in the divisional round, a rematch of a 31-17 playoff win for the Seahawks last year. Carolina beat Seattle, 27-23, earlier this season.

But Sherman knows they would be going home for good if Walsh hadn’t missed that kick.

“We were thankful that he missed the field goal but you never can control things like that,” Sherman said.
