Rodger Saffold Doesn't Need to Tell Rams Fans to be Dedicated

Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Rodger Saffold has a message for those fans who chanted for No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff to replace Case Keenum.

Rodger Saffold has a message for Los Angeles Rams fans who chanted for Jared Goff and finally got their wish on Tuesday evening. The No. 1 overall pick has been named the team’s starter after 10 weeks of ineptitude by former starter Case Keenum.

Before that move was made, Rams fans were begging for head coach Jeff Fisher to put Goff in for weeks now, a plea that could be heard all the way to the top of the organization.

Saffold certainly heard it and is now challenging Rams fans to “be out there in full force” after getting what they wanted:

I don’t think Rams fans need to be told to have dedication to their favorite team. There has been no more impassioned plea from any fanbase in football than Rams fans wanting to make a change behind center.

In fact, the chants for Goff bled through into the Week 9 television broadcast of the team’s last home game as Keenum crashed and burned once again.

Don’t tell this guy he isn’t already out in full force:

Can Rodger Saffold Blame Rams Fans for the QB Mutiny?

The bottom line is this team has been hard to watch. From a ridiculous “onside kick” to sporting one of the worst offenses in the league, the Rams are just plain bad right now – and Saffold isn’t exactly innocent in it all.

Los Angeles’ offensive line has not played well. Not only are holes non-existent for Todd Gurley on most carries, but the o-line has also allowed the 10th-most sacks this season, with 15 of the 23 total coming over the past five weeks.

If anything, Saffold should be telling himself and his teammates to come out in full force as a rookie takes on the difficult task of navigating the toughest position in the NFL. Goff is going to need all the help he can get and that starts with the big guys upfront.
