Rodger Saffold: 'I'm here to be that versatile guy'
The Rams offensive line has been a hot topic heading into the season, and it's far from settled.
But Rodger Saffold's versatility to play multiple positions along the offensive line should only help the coaching staff as they try to figure out the best unit up front.
Saffold has played left tackle, left guard and right guard for the Rams during his five seasons in St. Louis. He's been nursing a shoulder injury throughout the preseason and is expected to play right guard upon his return.
Thus far, the first unit has struggled, in part due to continuity up front as well as trying to integrate new pieces on offense, including quarterback Nick Foles.
But Saffold is optimistic when he returns, that will change.
"When we are a cohesive unit and we are together, we can do some great things," Saffold said, via the the team website.
