Russell Wilson wants to be in Seattle for a 'really, really long time'
The contract negotiations between Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks are currently taking over the NFL news cycle. There seems to be new reports every day regarding Wilson's contract. It was just last week where Wilson's agent told the world that Wilson wants to be the highest paid player in the NFL.
Over the weekend, Wilson spoke to Madison.com and reiterated his desire to remain in Seattle. It doesn't sound like Wilson thinks the contract talk is becoming a distraction, but until training camp starts it is unclear how the rest of his teammates will feel when they are forced to answer questions about Wilson's contract on a daily basis.
"It's not where my focus is," Wilson said, via NFL.com. "The rest will work out. The contract will work itself out. I'm excited about it and excited to hopefully be a Seattle Seahawk for a really, really long time. So, that's the goal."
There is no denying Wilson's love for the Seahawks organization, but if they can't agree on money, this could end up taking a turn for the worse.
The quicker the Seahawks and Wilson can work this out, the better chance they have to start concentrating on football again and make a run to their third consecutive Super Bowl.
