Ryan Fitzpatrick has a bizarre history with fast-food restaurants
Most people know Ryan Fitzpatrick graduated from Harvard and has made a living as an NFL quarterback. Many, however, don't know Fitzpatrick's past before he was a quarterback, or a Harvard student.
Prior to putting his knowledge to good use in college, Fitzpatrick made a living as a fast-food worker ... sort of. Rich Cimini of ESPN shared this interesting tidbit that Fitzpatrick worked at Wendy's for two weeks, likely because of this gaffe he once made.
Fitzpatrick was the target of a customer's complaint for receiving a meat-less burger -- just buns. He admitted to the mistake happening while he was on the job, but wouldn't go as far as to say he's the one who made the less-than-adequate burger.
But that's not where his history with fast-food restaurants ends. He also had a strange, yet memorable moment at Wendy's rival, McDonald's. This instance, Fitzpatrick most certainly will never forget.
Fitzpatrick, who may not be the most romantic man in the world, shared in 2011 how he popped the question to his wife, Liza, while at McDonald's.
“I asked her when she was between her third and fourth Chicken McNugget,” Fitzpatrick told The New York Times in 2011. “She had sweet and sour all over her face.”
For more reasons than one, Fitzpatrick will remember that moment forever. And to this day, he still wears his wedding ring during games.
NFL quarterback? Yes. Harvard grad? Yes. Romantic? Maybe not.
