Ryan Fitzpatrick ties Jets single-season passing TD record

Prior to training camp, Geno Smith was expected to be the starting quarterback for the New York Jets. Ryan Fitzpatrick would be his backup and only play if need be. Fast forward five months and Fitzpatrick has done nothing but play spectacular football and get the Jets in prime position for a playoff berth.

In 15 games, Fitzpatrick has completed 60.8 percent of his passes for 3,724 yards and has thrown just one interception in his last five games. His numbers have skyrocketed of late, so much so that he's even setting records.

With his game-winning touchdown against the New England Patriots on Sunday, Fitzpatrick now has 29 touchdown passes this season, which ties the single-season franchise record. Vinny Testaverde also had 29 in 1998, though Fitzpatrick has thrown for 468 more yards.

Now playing for his sixth team, it seems as though Fitzpatrick may have found a home, for now. He's 33 years old and hasn't been the most consistent quarterback, but he's giving the Jets more and more reasons to retain him after this season.
