Sack, pressure numbers prove Matt Kalil off to better start in 2015
Minnesota Vikings left tackle Matt Kalil, the fourth-overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, struggled in protection last season as he fought through constant knee pain. During the offseason, Kalil had a couple surgeries to clean things up and they seem to have done the trick.
Through three games, Kalil has only allowed three pressures. Pro Football Focus points out that, at this point last year, he had already allowed three sacks and given up 14 pressures.

Kalil's performance has been key to keeping quarterback Teddy Bridgewater upright, but the Vikings haven't needed to pass much lately. With running back Adrian Peterson back in the lineup, Minnesota has been able to grind out victories on the ground.
However, if the Vikings find themselves in a shootout this season, Bridgewater can drop back in comfort knowing that Kalil has his blind side covered.
