Seahawks OC Darrell Bevell: 'We want Jimmy involved in our offense'

Jimmy Graham's lack of involvement in the Seahawks offense in Week 2 wasn't planned.

Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell backed that claim when addressing the media this week, stating a number of other factors played into what happened at Green Bay.

"There's plays where he's targeted, there's plays where he's the primary target and the ball goes elsewhere, guys do different things in coverage, the quarterback looks a different way, protection breaks down and can't hang on to it long enough," Bevell said, via ESPN Seattle. "So there's so many things."

"I'm not just going to sit here and point out one thing. Is there an emphasis to try to get Jimmy the ball? We want Jimmy involved in our offense. There's no question about it."

It'd be hard-pressed to argue otherwise that Graham's lone catch in Week 2 was somehow by pure coincidence and Russell Wilson wasn't trying to get the three-time Pro Bowler involved.

After all, when the Seahawks acquired Graham, it wasn't to use him solely as a blocker.

More than anything, it was likely the Seahawks 0-2 start that contributed to Graham's frustration

"I think he's frustrated that we're 0-2," Bevell said, via ESPN Seattle, "not frustrated that he's not getting the ball.
