RENTON, Wash. (AP) The Seattle Seahawks placed rookie running back Thomas Rawls on injured reserve Tuesday and re-signed Bryce Brown to bolster a depleted running back group.

Rawls, who has been starting in place of the injured Marshawn Lynch, broke his ankle and suffered ligament damage during the Seahawks' 35-6 win over Baltimore on Sunday.

Rawls finishes the season with 830 yards rushing. He had four games of more than 100 yards, including a Seahawks rookie-record 209-yard performance against San Francisco.

Brown has had two brief stints with Seattle this season but he was inactive for his only two games with the team.

A seventh-round pick by Philadelphia in 2012, Brown has rushed for 1,004 yards and six touchdowns during an NFL career that has also included a stint with Buffalo.

The Seahawks on Tuesday also released wide receiver B.J. Daniels, safety Akeem Davis and running back DuJuan Harris.

They signed tight end Chase Coffman and activated linebacker Brock Coyle from the injured reserve/designated to return list.
