Sean Payton gives high praise to Dennis Allen after Week 14 victory

In the four losses for the New Orleans Saints before their Week 14 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they had given up an average of 36.5 points per game. In the win over the Buccaneers? They gave up just 17 points. It's probably pretty safe to say that Sean Payton is a happy man, especially when talking about new defensive coordinator Dennis Allen.

Via Christopher Dabe of The Times-Picayune:

"I think Dennis and his staff have done a great job," Payton said one day after the Saints yielded season-low totals in points allowed (17) and total yards allowed (291) in a 24-17 victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"There's obviously change taking place, communication on defense, the efficiency now of our guys getting in and out of the huddle with the defense called and really playing with a sense of urgency," Payton said. "There are some times -- a week ago at Carolina we did a lot of things well and yet they were able to come up with some big plays."

It's obvious just from hearing Payton talk, that he's feeling much more confident with Allen leading this defense. It's safe to say that, at least so far, the Saints made the right move when moving on from Rob Ryan.
