Source: Eagles brought in Tim Tebow for workout

As if it’s even possible, the Philadelphia Eagles' offseason got a bit more exciting on Monday.

Former Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow worked out for the Eagles, a source confirmed to FOX Sports 1's NFL insider Mike Garafolo, but the team will not sign him.

People Magazine first broke the story.

Tebow, 27, last played in a regular-season game for the New York Jets in 2012. He was later released after throwing only eight passes for 39 yardsm, then attended training camp in the summer of 2013 with the Patriots, who cut him.

The Eagles traded for quarterback Sam Bradford last week before signing running backs DeMarco Murray, Ryan Mathews and cornerbacks Byron Maxwell and Walter Thurmond III.

The Eagles have four quarterbacks on the roster including Bradford, Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and G.J. Kinne.

Tebow's former college teammate Riley Cooper is also on the team.

One of the most successful college quarterbacks at Florida, Tebow started 14 games for Denver over two years after being selected in the first round of the 2010 draft. He won one playoff game with the Broncos, who traded him for fourth-round pick when they signed Peyton Manning.

Tebow has been working in television as an analyst for the SEC Network and ESPN.

Although Tebow had some success in Denver, his inaccurate passing and lack of pocket presence has plagued him in the NFL. His strength has been running the ball or improvising.

There's also been some thought that Tebow might switch to tight end, although he has balked at such a move in the past.
