Steelers' Bell lands at No. 16 in NFL Network's Top 100
Steelers running back made a big splash in 2014, and his fellow players rewarded him with a spot high on the list of the best players in the NFL.
Bell was revealed as the 16th best player Wednesday night in the NFL's "Top 100 Players of 2015" as voted by the players. Bell finished his second NFL season with 1,361 rushing yards on 290 carries and also added 83 catches for 854 yards.
The fact that fellow running back Jamaal Charles landed four spots ahead of Bell at No. 12 caused a minor stir on Twitter. Charles rushed for 1,033 yards on 206 carries to go with 40 receptions for 291 yards. Bell set a Steelers record with 2,215 yards from scrimmage, but he believes there is still room for improvement.
"I still made a lot of mistakes," said Bell via Steelers.com. "I want to go out there and be perfect every time. If I am not that, I feel like I am letting myself down, my team down."
Bell's biggest mistake has come off the field when he was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana last summer. He'll be suspended for the first three games of the season because of the infraction.
Bell joins teammates Ben Roethlisberger (No. 26) and Maurkice Pouncey (No. 83) on the top 100 list. It's safe to say that All-Pro receiver Antonio Brown will join them next Wednesday, when the top 10 players are revealed.
