The Steelers are fresh off their first game and first win of the season and are now preparing for their home opener against the division rival Bengals.

While the team has their quick turnaround from dominating Washington to preparing for Cincinnati we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Wednesday, Sept. 14th.

Balls. Big balls.

It took some huge, um, nerve, to call a 29-yard pass on a 4th and 1 but that’s just what the Steelers did on Monday night against Washington to get their first touchdown. Ben Roethlisberger told the Cook and Poni Show on 93.7 The Fan on Tuesday that they had been working on such a play in practice.

“I have the freedom from the coaching staff to kind of go for it on fourth, to do things, but at that particular point in the game, I don’t want to jump to any conclusions…they called a play to us and it was a play we had been working on.” – Ben Roethlisberger

Coach Tomlin had explained in his Tuesday presser that he takes responsibility for all plays that are called but wouldn’t reveal how that play came to be. Can you imagine the outrage if that play had failed? Yikes.

Twerk in the name of love

Antonio Brown is all over the place already and he’s known for a memorable touchdown celebration, or two, a season. He’s already given us a great one so far this season in just the first game with this beauty.

He was flagged for excessive celebration because the NFL rule-book actually bans sexually suggestive touchdown celebrations. Because of course the NFL is the town in Footloose.

    Why wasn’t he on AB?

Speaking of Antonio Brown the most hyped part of this Week 1 matchup against Washington was the idea of seeing AB go up against cornerback Josh Norman.

Washington gave Norman a five-year, $75 million contract with $50 million in guarantees this offseason, you’d think they’d have him up against the league’s top receiver?

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler explains that Brown spent the majority of the night beating up on Bashaud Breeland as Norman primarily lined up on the left side of the field. Brown told the MNF crew after the game that Norman told him that he wanted to cover him more.
