Stephen Gostkowski used suspect's selfies to track down his stolen iPad

Stephen Gostkowski isn't just the third-most accurate kicker in NFL history. He's apparently a decent detective, too.

As reported by the Sun Chronicle, Gostkowski assisted the police in tracking down the 19-year-old man that stole his iPad out of his truck in January. And it was all made possible thanks to a moron who took selfies on the All-Pro's iPad.

According to police, Gostkowski noticed a half-dozen selfies of a stranger on his iCloud account a few days after it was stolen, and shared them with law enforcement. Then, he did what any good detective would do and used Find My iPhone app to track down his tablet.

It led police to Woonsocket, R.I., where they found the iPad in the suspect's bedroom. He denied stealing it from Gostkowski's truck, and instead claimed he bought it from a friend for $50. The suspect was placed on probation for a year, and the arraignment is scheduled for April 15.

So remember, kids: If you're going to steal an iPad from an NFL player, be sure to refrain from taking selfies on two days later.
