Super Bowl moment No. 12: Leon Lett gets caught by Don Beebe

FOX Sports senior NFL writer Alex Marvez has ranked the 50 greatest moments in the big game's big history, and every weekday from now until Feb. 7 we'll unveil the latest addition to our countdown. Today, we look back at moment No. 12, when Leon Lett showed us where hot-dogging it gets you.

Although the Dallas Cowboys rolled to one of the biggest routs in Super Bowl history, Buffalo wide receiver Don Beebe always will be remembered in this game for never quitting.

The Cowboys were ahead by five touchdowns and about to score a sixth as Leon Lett rumbled toward the goal line with a fumble recovery.

Lett, though, never noticed Beebe in hot pursuit while he was showboating. Beebe knocked the football from Lett's outstretched arm and it rolled out of the end zone, resulting in a touchback that gave Buffalo possession once again. In a 2013 CBS interview, Lett described the play as a "life lesson."

"Even though you see the goal line, don't dance until you get across it," said Lett, who is now the Cowboys' defensive tackles coach.
