Super Bowl moment No. 36: Roger Craig high-stepping into the end zone

Published Dec. 18, 2015 9:15 a.m. ET

As we count down to Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, it's time to look back on the magical and memorable moments in the 49 previous Super Bowls. FOX Sports senior NFL writer Alex Marvez has ranked the 50 greatest moments in the big game's big history, and every weekday from now until Feb. 7 we'll unveil the latest addition to our countdown. Today, we look back at moment No. 36, when Roger Craig helped the 49ers take down the Dolphins in Super Bowl XIX.

The final score in San Francisco's win over Miami also is remembered as the game's signature play -- "20 Bingo Cross."

Craig caught a short pass from Joe Montana, turned up-field and headed toward the goal-line uncontested. The running back then high-stepped with his knees pumping and the football held overhead into the end zone for a 16-yard touchdown that extended San Francisco's lead to 22 points midway through the third quarter.

Craig posted two more touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving) while producing 135 yards from scrimmage on 22 touches.

This game also is notable for being the only Super Bowl that Miami quarterback Dan Marino reached during his 17-year NFL career.

Here are highlights from Super Bowl XIX.

Final score: San Francisco 38, Miami 16

The 49ers defense shut down Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino, who ended up making just one Super Bowl appearance.
