Super Bowl moment No. 49: Bart Starr's 62-yard TD pass to Boyd Dowler propels Packers

Published Dec. 1, 2015 10:00 a.m. ET

Green Bay quarterback Bart Starr won MVP honors for a second straight Super Bowl with a boost from Boyd Dowler.

The Packers wide receiver caught a second-quarter Starr toss across the middle of the field and avoided the pursuit of Oakland defenders Dan Conners and Rodger Bird for a 62-yard touchdown early in the second quarter.

The play was especially sweet for Dowler considering he missed almost all of Super Bowl I because of injury, opening the door for replacement Max McGee to catch two touchdown passes.
