Tavon Austin is sad to leave St. Louis but can't wait to get to LA

We’ve known for a while that the Rams are headed to St. Louis, but tweets like the one receiver Tavon Austin sent Thursday afternoon reveal the move is about more than football, fans and money.

People’s lives are changing.

Austin has only known playing in St. Louis since the Rams made him a first-round pick in 2013, and the team needed to be out of its Rams Park practice facility near St. Louis by April 1. This is what things looked like Wednesday when moving trucks arrived to clean out the last vestiges of Ramdom.

According to MMQB, the team’s offseason program will pop up in Oxnard, Calif., in mid-April. In July, training camp will be held in Irvine, and when camp breaks the team will migrate to its in-season facility in Thousand Oaks. That’s a lot of moving around the perimeter of L.A. before players are finally settled. But in the meantime they have to say goodbye to St. Louis before they can head west.

Professional athletes are resilient, however, and it only took Austin 46 minutes between tweets Thursday to move on.
