Tebow finds room to run but can't find end zone for Eagles
PHILADELPHIA — Tim Tebow got another loud ovation from Eagles fans when he entered in the fourth quarter of Saturday night's 40-17 preseason win over the Baltimore Ravens.
He was 2 of 5 for 13 yards and ran for 31 yards, including a 26-yard scamper, but had a TD run overturned on review and failed to throw to a wide-open receiver in the end zone on the play.
Tebow is competing with Matt Barkley for the No. 3 job behind Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez.
''I love it,'' Tebow said of Kelly's up-tempo offense. ''The more I play the more comfortable I feel.''
Bradford went 3 of 5 for 35 yards and led the Eagles (2-0) on an 84-yard drive in his only series. He played his first game since tearing his left ACL for the second time in 11 months on Aug. 23, 2014 and survived a late hit by Terrell Suggs, who lowered his helmet and tackled his knees for a roughing penalty.
Sanchez was 14 of 20 for 118 yards. His 5-yard TD pass to Jordan Matthews was nullified by a holding penalty on Julian Vandervelde. Barkley was 6 of 14 for 86 yards.
