Ted Ginn Jr. Flies By Raiders Defense for 88-Yard Touchdown (Video)
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. is the definition of a home-run threat in the NFL and he knocked one out of the park against the Oakland Raiders.
Following Khalil Mack’s incredible pick-six of Cam Newton, the Carolina Panthers went into the second half of their game against the Oakland Raiders with a 24-7 deficit. However, Newton went to work on cutting back on that lead, and he received a huge lift with an 88-yard touchdown pass to Ted Ginn Jr. to cut the score to 24-20.
Ginn Jr. came into Week 12 with just one touchdown on the season, as it has been a disappointing year for the former Ohio State star. However, his touchdown score came in the previous week’s big Thursday Night Football win over the New Orleans Saints.

Look at him fly. The Panthers offensive line gave Newton time to find Ginn and Newton uncorked an absolute bomb over the middle of the field. Ginn burned everyone in the footrace to the ball,and he looked even faster with the rock in his hands. It’s truly ridiculous how good Ginn Jr. is when he puts on the afterburners and you can take that touchdown to the bank.
Scoring touchdowns wasn’t a problem for Ginn Jr. last year, because he scored 10 of them, totaling 739 receiving yards. However, Ginn is averaging just 37.4 receiving yards per game this season and that’s a number that must go up.
Detractors who don’t know jack about football will be fixated on Ginn’s propensity for drops, but the fact of the matter is that no wide receiver adds more to this offense than Ginn. Yes, Kelvin Benjamin is a better player, but Ginn’s game-breaking ability gives the Panthers a much-needed X-factor. His deep speed changes the complexion of games, such as this one and strikes fear into the hearts of defenses.
