Terrelle Pryor calls Browns pass protection 'bullcrap' after another QB injury
The Cleveland Browns have had four quarterbacks take at least one snap during their winless regular season. It’s not because the Browns are seeking consistency under center, rather the team’s pass protection hasn’t been able to keep their signal-callers healthy.
Robert Griffin, Charlie Whitehurst, Josh McCown and Cody Kessler have all been injured at various points this season. Kessler left Sunday’s loss to the Steelers with a possible concussion, the second time this season he has left a game due to a head injury.
Wideout Terrelle Pryor has seen enough after Kessler’s latest injury, and the former Ohio State quarterback didn’t mince words about the Browns’ pass protection this season.
"This is bullcrap. We can't keep doing this. We can't keep letting our guys get hit," Pryor told reporters. "It's as simple as that. … We can’t keep getting these guys hit. I’m tired of our guys getting hit.
“I’m nobody to complain because I don’t run [the pass protection], but it’s personal to me because I care for those guys and I don’t like seeing them get hit like that.”
Pryor converted to receiver after being selected as a quarterback in the third round of the supplemental draft. He is having his best season, hauling in 56 catches for 724 yards and four touchdowns.
