Texans CB Bouye seals win over Colts with interception
Houston Texans reserve cornerback A.J. Bouye helped play a big role in his team's 16-13 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, clinching the game with his interception of quarterback Matt Hasselbeck late in the fourth quarter.
With less than two minutes remaining and Indianapolis deep in their own territory, Bouye picked off a long pass intended for Colts wide receiver Donte Moncrief at the Houston 38-yard line.
“When the ball was in the air, I couldn’t believe he threw it,” Bouye said. “I just knew I needed to catch it. I was just trying to make a play to help the team."
The interception enabled the Texans to run out the clock, preserving their first win in Indianapolis in franchise history and giving them sole possession of first place in the AFC South.
The turnover also marked the second game-sealing interception for Bouye this season. The three-year veteran picked off Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles to help close out Houston's win over the Jaguars on Oct. 18.
