Houston Texans offensive lineman Jeff Adams, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 2, said he expects to be ready in time to participate in offseason activities and minicamps.

Adams started the first two weeks of the season at left guard before tearing the patellar tendon in his right knee in Houston's 24-17 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 20.

Four months later, the 6-foot-7, 305-pound Adams said his recovery is progressing well.

“It’s going really well,” Adams said. “I’m just taking it one day at a time. I haven’t had any setbacks. I’m just working every day to get out on the field. It shouldn’t be a problem being ready for the offseason practices with the way I’ve progressed. It’s gone really well.”

Adams was claimed by the Texans off waivers in 2014, but whether he returns to the team remains to be seen. He's set to be a free agent in March.
