Houston Texans Pro Bowl left tackle Duane Brown said a thumb injury won't keep him from playing in the team's Sept. 13 season-opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Brown, who has a cast on his hand, missed Houston's final two preseason games.
“It’s a thumb injury but nothing really serious, no surgery involved,” Brown said, per the team's official website. “It’s been healing very rapidly and I’ll be fine for Kansas City.”

The 30-year-old Brown hasn't missed a start since the 2013 season.
“I hate sitting out of these preseason games,” Brown said. “Live action, when it counts, against an opponent like that, it’s very important for me to be out there.”
