Texans to place CB Charles James on IR
A foot injury made worse in the Houston Texans' 34-6 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday has ended the season for cornerback Charles James.
Houston head coach Bill O'Brien announced Monday the Texans would place James on injured reserve this week after playing through the injury in recent weeks.
Via Houston's official website:
"Charles James, he’s been playing on a fractured foot for over a month," O'Brien said. "He’s been trying to gut it out and tough it out. He has done that. He’s practiced and played and he’s done a good job. But it was fully fractured (Sunday), so at some point this week, he’ll go on IR."
James appeared in nine games for Houston season, including one start, and made 23 tackles.
Cut by the Texans at the end of training camp, James returned to Houston after being claimed off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens in October.
