Texas Football: Justin Tucker Makes the 2017 NFL Pro Bowl
Justin Tucker will be one of two former Texas Longhorns representing the program at the 2017 NFL Pro Bowl.
Justin Tucker attended the University of Texas from 2008-2011 as the football team’s placekicker. From 2010-2011, he went a perfect 71 for 71 on extra point attempts, and made 40 of 48 field-goal tries. However, this would not end up getting him selected in the 2012 NFL Draft, so he became an undrafted free agent.
In 2012, Tucker would sign with the Baltimore Ravens, and hasn’t looked back. He won the 2013 Super Bowl with the team and has become one of the best kickers in the NFL. The 2016 season may be the 27-year-old’s best, as he is a perfect 25 for 25 on extra points despite all the problems kickers have faced with them this year. He has also missed just one field goal (33 for 34). These accolades were apparently enough for him to be voted into the 2017 NFL Pro Bowl Game. The R
This performance was apparently enough for him to be voted into the 2017 NFL Pro Bowl Game. The Ravens announced it in the tweet below:

The University of Texas football program’s Twitter then congratulated the alumnus’ latest accolade:
Congratulations to #Longhorn4Life @jtuck9 on his selection to the Pro Bowl. #HookEm https://t.co/pJ6t1XEtr4

Tucker will join the rest of the NFL’s stars at the Pro Bowl, which will take place on January 29, 2017, at 8:00 p.m. ET. The location has been moved from Honolulu, HI to the Orlando Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL. Extra events will also take place during the weekend of celebrating football’s top players, including a game of dodgeball.
Justin Tucker should continue to be a mainstay in the NFL for years to come, and could represent Texas in the Pro Bowl again, especially if he keeps kicking this way. It’s great for the Ravens and a solid look for the undrafted kicker, who defied the odds and became a successful player despite the draft process.
