The 5 best quarterbacks of the 2017 NFL Draft

The 2017 NFL Draft is just over a month away, and FS1 college football analyst Joel Klatt is breaking down the biggest names and top prospects. Teams are built and Super Bowls are won on quarterbacks, so with that in mind, Klatt breaks down the five best play callers of 2017.

5. Chad Kelly

You got to get over the off-field antics with Kelly and realize he is an anticipatory thrower and he can make every single throw in the book. Plus, I like his swag. He thinks he can walk into a locker room and be the quarterback right away.

4. Brad Kaaya

Kaaya has a tendency of playing a bit too mechanical, but when he loosens up he has flashes accuracy and can throw the ball well down field.

3. Mitch Trubisky

He’s a solid athlete that ran really well in the 40-yard-dash at the Combine. Even though he only started a year, he threw for a high completion percentage and very few interceptions.

2. Deshaun Watson

Watson is a bit of an enigma for me, because he played his best when his best was needed but also played down to inferior competition at times. So that inconsistency is going to hurt him. I don’t think his ceiling is that high, but he has a high floor. A known commodity that should go in the middle of the first round.

1. DeShone Kizer

Similar to Watson, Kizer showed inconsistency at times and threw too many picks. However, he has a bigger frame and a more talented arm than his Clemson counterpart, so his potential is higher. I think Kizer could grow into a really solid starting quarterback in the NFL.
