The New Orleans Saints must stop Eli Manning's new secret weapon Sterling Shepard

So Saints fans may have heard of Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. no doubt. Now though, there is a new name that is making a name for himself. Sterling Shepard cannot be overlooked this Sunday if the Saints wanna win against the New York Giants.

Jacksonville Jaguar’s cornerback Prince Amukamara had this to say when he spent time with Shepard and Beckham Jr. for a few days training.

“His confidence and raw skills… he’s just confident in his ability that he’s going to beat the man across from him. And he’s very sudden at the line, meaning he’s quick. He has a combination of [Victor] Cruz and Odell’s skillset.”

Shepard was drafted in the second round by the New York Giants. He stands at 5-foot-10 and 194 pounds. Shepard had four catches last week in his very first NFL game. The game is simply not too big for this up and coming star. Shepard already has a touchdown underneath his belt too.

The Saints will have their hands full trying to keep tabs on this guy. The secondary better not leave him open. They are already decimated and short handed at the moment with Delvin Breaux being out for an extended period. Somehow, the Saints will need to cover Shepard like a blanket.

Shepard’s first touchdown pictured above was a thing of beauty. The guy will be tough to keep in check all game long. It will nearly be impossible to top last years game when the Saints won a crazy shootout 52-49. The Saints will have to win the turnover battle this time around.  The team that wins will surely be the one that makes those big plays late in the game.

Everyone in Who Dat Nation may have their eyes on Odell Beckham Jr., but they might wanna make sure that Shepard is not forgotten. Shepard can also streak downfield and run past the secondary. He’s also not afraid to go across the middle if needed.

This game is critical! An 0-2 start could be devastating to a young Saints team. Hopefully, the Saints can put four strong quarters together. Just keep a close eye on Sterling Shepard. This guy will make them pay, if the Saint’s secondary falls asleep.
