These two stats perfectly explain Vikings' two-game winning streak
The Minnesota Vikings have rebounded from an embarrassing, 20-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1. They are 2-1 after back-to-back victories, and the winning formula is simple: run hard on offense and stop the run on defense.
The Vikings have taken down the Detroit Lions and San Diego Chargers in consecutive weeks by a combined score of 57-30. During that two game stretch, they've allowed opponents an average of just 2.9 yards per rush attempt while Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has averaged 5.3 yards per rush.

Minnesota's stingy defense and commitment to the running game has masked Teddy Bridgewater's rather pedestrian play at quarterback during the last two wins. The Vikings will keep winning, though, so long as Peterson stays rolling and the defense remains sound in its fundamentals.
