This sleeping giant will emerge for the Jaguars in 2015

Coming off a 3-13 season, the Jacksonville Jaguars invested big money in free agency in an attempt to upgrade both sides of the ball. On offense, the Jags brought in offensive tackle Jermey Parnell as well as Pro Bowl tight end Julius Thomas and the team is expecting a big jump in play from quarterback Blake Bortles in his second season.

But if Jacksonville is to improve in 2015, they'll need to see significant progress from other players already on the roster. One safe bet to take a step forward would be:

Allen Robinson, WR

A second-round pick in 2014, Robinson was Jacksonville's leading receiver before suffering a season-ending stress fracture in his foot in Week 10. The former Penn State standout caught 48 passes for 548 yards and two touchdowns before being injured last year.

Robinson was a standout during the Jaguars' offseason program, where his play was described as "unbelievable" by the Associated Press. In addition to individual improvement, Robinson should be aided by other factors as well. Bortles has spent the offseason refining his mechanics and the addition of Thomas and the presence of fellow second-year wideouts Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee will mean that Robinson won't be the focal point for opposing defenses.

The Jaguars haven't had a 1,000-yard receiver since Jimmy Smith in 2005. If all goes well for Robinson, he can reach that mark this season and establish himself as a No. 1 wideout in the process.
