Titans preparing for a challenge in Julio Jones Sunday
As the Titans prepare to host the Falcons on Sunday, cornerback Jason McCourty knows the defense faces a tough task in trying to contain the Atlanta offense, specifically wide receiver Julio Jones.
Jones has caught 49 passes for 638 yards and four touchdowns this season. He's currently second in the NFL in receiving yards and third in receptions. McCourty said he considers the the five-year veteran to be the league's top wideout.
“So far this year, he has been the best receiver,’’ McCourty said, per the team's official website. “Look at the numbers he has put up, and it’s hard to say someone has been better than him this year.
“But whether you say he’s first, second, third or whatever, he’s right there at the top of this league.
Jones enters Sunday coming off a six-catch, 93-yard performance in Atlanta's loss to New Orleans last week. He's been bothered by a hamstring injury in recent weeks, but wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report.
