The Tennessee Titans’ playoff push was dealt a huge blow Saturday. Quarterback Marcus Mariota was carted off the field late in the third quarter of a 38-17 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars after suffering an apparent leg injury, and coach Mike Mularkey later informed reporters that Mariota has a fractured fibula.

Mariota’s right leg was placed in an air cast, and Matt Cassell replaced him. The Titans came into Sunday tied with the Houston Texans for the AFC South lead, but the loss to a now 3-12 Jaguars team playing its first game under an interim coach was a massive setback.

Mariota has built on his strong 2015 rookie season, coming into Sunday’s game with career highs in passing yards and touchdowns this year. The Titans will finish their regular season against the Texans in Week 17.
