Tom Brady Shows Off Deep Ball in Return (Video)

Nowadays, it’s hard to find people who are willing to talk smack about Tom Brady, but back in the day, people used to diss his deep ball. Bad call

After a four-game suspension, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is indeed as good—and as angry—as ever. He completed his first pass of the game, he marched down the field to lead a touchdown drive, and he’s threw just three incomplete passes in the first half. The Patriots are up 23-7 on the Cleveland Browns and this offense looks as amazing as ever.

As always, Brady’s accuracy and decision-making have been the hallmark of his brilliant performance against an overmatched Browns pass defense. But on the play above, he showed that he still has the arm strength to drive the ball vertically.

The fact that Brady is driving the ball deep and hitting his mark is nice to see. Hogan has more long speed and size at the catch point than the other wide receivers on this roster, so it was also good to see the former restricted free agent and Buffalo Bills wideout filling his role in this offense.

Hogan was the team’s leading receiver in the first half, catching all four passes thrown at him for a whopping 114 yards. Martellus Bennett had the two touchdowns and Rob Gronkowski had the highlight run-after-the-catch. But Hogan was bringing home the bacon in the passing yardage department.

Brady threw 14.8 yards per pass attempt in the first 30 minutes, going 14-for-17 for 248 yards, two touchdowns, and, as usual, no interceptions.

He’s back, baby.
