Travis Frederick: Tyron Smith can bench between 600 and 700 pounds

You learn something new everyday, and sometimes what you learn can be hard to fathom. I had to do a double take when I learned of how much Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tyron Smith can bench press. According to teammate and fellow lineman Travis Frederick, Smith can bench press between 600 and 700 pounds!

“He does crazy things in the weight room that I wish that I could do and I never will be able to do unfortunately,” Frederick said in a radio interview, per The Dallas Morning News. “It wouldn’t be unusual to see a small car.”

Smith started immediately as a rookie in 2011, and he has dominated in three out of his first four seasons in the NFL. According to Pro Football Focus, Smith has finished no worse than their seventh-best offensive tackle overall in every season except for 2012. With the addition of top draft prospect La'el Collins, the Cowboys will once again boast one of the best offensive lines in the NFL in 2015.
