Tre Mason sends cryptic tweets after Rams draft Gurley
By Matt Lombardi
This past season, former Auburn running back Tre Mason, in 12 games, put together a solid campaign for the St. Louis Rams, racking up 765 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Apparently, however, it wasn’t enough to stop the Rams from using their No. 10 pick on another running back – former Georgia stud Todd Gurley.
In response, Mason has sent out a few cryptic messages on Twitter about the move. Check them out:
Mason’s reaction wasn’t quite as strong as his teammate Zac Stacy’s - he reportedly has requested a trade from the team.
Still, it’s interesting to see players take to social media when they realize that their livelihoods may be in jeopardy. Mason, a third-round pick a year ago, was a nice surprise for the Rams in 2014. He may have to do more to keep his job in 2015, however.
