Trevor Siemian's Second Drive vs Panthers Ends in Pick (Video)

The Denver Broncos are defending their Super Bowl title with a new quarterback, Trevor Siemian, who saw his second drive end in an interception

Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth are dong their best to try and sell Trevor Siemian as a legitimate starting quarterback in the NFL. The first-year starter for the Denver Broncos quarterback didn’t help them much by seeing his second NFL drive end in an interception.

The first drive of the young man’s career showed why the Broncos believed in him enough to name him the starter over first round pick Paxton Lynch by leading an eight-play drive into Panthers territory. That drive stalled thanks to a fumble by rookie running back Devontae Booker which was caused by defensive end Charles Johnson of Carolina.

After a Panthers touchdown, Siemian had the team on the move again. This time an 11-play drive ended thanks to a poor decision by Siemian, who tried to throw a pass over veteran linebacker Thomas Davis, Sr.

Davis was able to tip the pass in the air and take it down for the interception.

Siemian certainly looked like a quarterback playing in his first ever regular season game right there. When there are tree trunks waving in front of your face, you probably shouldn’t force the throw. Yet he did—and this is what happens when you try that.

Denver has since scored thanks to a 28-yard touchdown run by rookie full back Andy Janovich. The Super Bowl Rematch currently sits at a 7-7 tie in the second quarter.
