Ty Law to be honorary captain, which history shows is great for Patriots
Ty Law was one of the New England Patriots' best defensive players when they won three Super Bowls in four years. He had one of the most famous interceptions in Patriots history (aside from Malcolm Butler) when he picked off Kurt Warner and returned it 47 yards for a touchdown in Super Bowl XXXVI.
He'll be back on New England's sideline 14 years later as an honorary captain for Sunday's AFC Championship game. And according to history, that's great news for the Patriots. According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, the Patriots are 3-0 with Law as an honorary captain, including 2-0 in AFC title games.
Law was great on the field, helping New England win three Super Bowls. But he's undefeated as an honorary captain. It looks like the Patriots need to start using the two-time All-Pro to their advantage.
If the Patriots beat the Broncos on Sunday with Law on the sideline, he'll improve his "record" to 4-0.
