The Honey Badger, Arizona Cardinals star defensive back Tyrann Mathieu, no doubt is in attendance for his alma mater LSU Tigers’ home game versus Alabama.

Since former LSU Tigers head coach Nick Saban came back to the SEC to coach the Alabama Crimson Tide 2007, the Alabama-LSU rivalry has intensified exponentially. This SEC West rivalry game usually has a big say into which football juggernaut gets to play in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta.

With the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals on their bye week, former LSU defensive back and Cardinals star safety Tyrann Mathieu was no doubt going to be in Baton Rouge for this major SEC West rivalry game. Here is the Honey Badger making the rounds on Victory Hill in Baton Rouge.

Mathieu was a former 2011 Heisman Trophy finalist for the Tigers. His tenure in Baton Rouge would be ended abruptly for violating team rules. Mathieu would be a third round selection by the Cardinals in the 2013 NFL Draft. He has grown up since landing in Glendale and is one of the very best defensive backs in the NFL.

Mathieu was a huge reason that LSU beat Alabama in the 2011 Game of the Century and he helped guide LSU to an SEC Championship in 2011 over the SEC East Champion Georgia Bulldogs in Atlanta. Unfortunately for Mathieu and the Tigers, they would lose the 2011 National Championship to Alabama.

It’s commonplace for NFL stars to visit their alma mater’s football team during their bye week. This just so happens to be the biggest game in the SEC season so far. Since firing Les Miles, LSU has become the No. 13 team in the nation at 5-2. Alabama just doesn’t lose under Saban. The Crimson Tide are the No. 1 team in the land at a perfect 8-0.
