Undrafted rookie Lamm proving to be a valuable find for Houston
Houston Texans offensive tackle Kendall Lamm, who was bypassed in last April's NFL draft, has emerged as a pleasant surprise for the team during his rookie season.
Lamm, who joined the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State, has appeared in 14 games for Houston, including four starts.
The 23-year-old has been used primarily as a blocking tight end, but caught one pass for seven yards in Houston's Week 13 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Texans head coach Bill O'Brien lauded the contributions Lamm has made as a rookie.
“You talk about Lamm, I just really like his attitude,” Texans coach Bill O’Brien said. “I think he’s tough. I think he has a lot of work to do to have the type of career he wants to have in this league, but I think he’s the type of kid that will put that work in. He’s done a good job for us this year.”
Lamm and the Texans face the Jacksonville Jaguars at home on Sunday.
