Update: Minnesota Vikings stadium more than 65 percent complete

The Minnesota Vikings are creeping closer to their move into a new home—U.S. Bank Stadium.

The stadium's construction is more than 65 percent complete, according to Rochelle Olson of the Star-Tribune. Still a year away from completion, the project is costing an astounding $1.4 million per day.

"To be a mere 12 months from opening what will be one of the world's most architecturally-unique stadiums is incredibly exciting," said Vikings owner and president Mark Wilf, per the Star-Tribune. "With the significant surrounding economic development, the involvement of thousands of Minnesota workers and hundreds of Minnesota companies, and the securing of major events, U.S. Bank Stadium is setting the bar for public-private partnerships."

A team of 1,200 workers from 300 different Minnesota businesses, according to the Star-Tribune, are aiming to have the stadium ready for the 2016 season. Olson offered an update on their progress in the form of photographs posted to her Twitter account.
