Veteran CB Terence Newman still ticking at 37 years old

Terence Newman has been around for a while. The veteran cornerback is with the Minnesota Vikings now, but he was a Cincinnati Bengal before that and a Dallas Cowboy when he was in his prime.

On Friday, Newman turned 37 years old, which is remarkable since he's still holding onto a starting job with the Vikings.

Drafted with the fifth-overall pick in the 2003 NFL draft, the Kansas State product is entering his 13th season as a professional. He has played in 174 career games, collecting 37 interceptions and two Pro Bowl appearances along the way (2007, 2009).

Newman's history with Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer can be traced back to Cincinnati and Dallas. That rapport, which took years to build, is the reason why first-round rookie Trae Waynes can't crack Minnesota's starting lineup.

We'll see how much longer Newman can maintain a high level of play, as he's currently the closest thing the NFL has to a timeless cornerback.
